From Address:

The apartment address is Lenin street 5. The beginning of the building of modern Lenin Street – is the sixteenth century. From the seventeenth century, the street name was Franciscan, because of the Franciscan Minsk monastery located on it. Later, in the middle of the nineteenth century, the street was renamed in the Governor street. After the revolution, it was renamed in Karl Marx, then in 1922 in Leninskaya, and finally, in 1945 - Lenin street. Up to World War II the street had been built up with beautiful architectural buildings and had been the center of Minsk public festivals, but during the war it was destroyed. Nowadays, there is a pedestrian boulevard with trees and benches along the street on both sides of the Independence Avenue. Boulevard was restored some years ago and has been included in the list of historical and cultural values of the Republic of Belarus since 2002
